Let It Go
A 4 track tech-house ep (30m 11s) — released April 26th 2010 on Seinan Music
Seinan music boss Andy Graham AKA Sei A returns to the imprint with this superb music odyssey featuring stunning remixes from Hiro and Moodymanc/Paul Hardy....
This is Seinan Music's third year in existence and only their fifth release to date, it seems the driving forces behind this much tipped Scottish label are making quality a definite priority over quantity and who can argue with that in a world drenched in disposable music.
The label is the brainchild of Andy Graham AKA Sei A and business partner and fellow producer Gordan Logan. Graham has had a startling couple of years recordings for International Deejay Gigolo, Turbo, Imprime and Missive building a name for himself for innovative original house music. Likewise Logan has stepped into the production arena joining Graham on Paris' Missive music.
For this new release Graham has provided 2 original versions of the track' Let it Go'. The first is a solid rolling house cut that draws on rich uplifting melodies supplied by warm strings, piano chords and his own highly distinctive vocals which build to an uplifting arpegiated synth riff that takes the intensity levels to roof raising proportions. This track has an incredible atmosphere that sits somewhere between a big room sound and a chilled beach bar vibe, wonderful stuff that is certain to become an end of night classic.
The second version is the 'Sei A Go Slow mix' which delivers a dubbed out 4/4 interpretation built around a superbly fragmented arrangement that drops and builds through the best part of 8 minutes. The melodic elements are still in place in a twisted and FX laden style and give this reworking an instant charm.
First of the remixes comes from Tronicsole's Hiro who takes things into the realms of quality deep house providing a hypnotic and understated slice of excellence sparingly peppered with Graham atmospheric vocal, a perfect accompaniment to the superb originals.
Finally we have the pairing of Moodymanc and Paul Hardy at the controls, both of whom should be familiar to fans of quality house music, Moodymanc having made a name for himself with releases on Tsuba, 20:20 and Dessous whilst Paul hardy is the man behind the Baker street label. For their mix of 'Let it Go' they create a brilliant slice of rolling house that brings the melodic elements to fore drawing the listener in from the opening bar. This version has an uplifting, druggy quality to it that is reminiscent of the very best of nineties progressive house yet almost maintains a wonderful current feel to the production and a truly timeless quality.
Once again Sei A has delivered a record above and beyond all expectations and provided music that can't be easily placed in a genre pigeonhole. This is not to be missed...
